DESCRIPTION OF SESSION

Where exactly is the fine line between being innovative in business and compromising your clinic or professional integrity?

Physiotherapy clinic owners, like most business owners, often look for different ways to help their business prosper.  Enterprising owners may seek to add new lines of business or value to their customers’ experience, while more conservative owners may choose to examine their business’ profit margins or internal efficiency first.  Unlike many other types of businesses, though, physiotherapy clinics can face close scrutiny by the public and by regulating agencies regarding how they choose to advertise and grow.

Social media, products and equipment, flash discounts, and courtesy services are just a few of the latest devices businesses are using to build awareness, value, and brand loyalty.  Do you know which of these are considered appropriate within your province?  Are you confident of the message you are relaying if you do or do not employ these business strategies at your clinic?

In this session, three experts will discuss the various considerations for business owners seeking to set themselves apart, grow their business, and still maintain their professional standard.

OBJECTIVES

At the end of this session, you will know how to:

  1. Discuss the major issues, constraints and opportunities related to retailing within Canadian physiotherapy clinic environments;
  2. Evaluate the appropriateness of various social and mass marketing trends for physiotherapy clinics;
  3. Make informed decisions when developing marketing, pricing, and retailing strategies for your clinic.
